ABout me

“My name is Thom Brouwer – also known as THOMB – and I create highly energetic content centered around F1 and simracing, primarily on Twitch & YouTube. My mission is to share my passion and energy with as many people as humanly possible, while bridging the gaps for viewers between simracing and real racing. The livestreams I produce are one-of-a-kind, as I shape them into actual entertaining ‘shows’. If I can get people excited and inspire them in a positive way, either in general or about simracing as a whole, my job is done!”

MY STORY

Where it all began.

It all began in the year 2000 when little Thom came to check out planet earth. In his youth, Thom loved racing his toy cars around in his home. His passion for Formula 1 didn’t start until 2014 though, when he got into watching F1 together with his parents, who used to organise F1 watch parties before little Thom was even born.

How it started.

By the year 2019, Thom had become a huge Formula 1 fan having a few Grand Prix visits under his belt already. Watching livestreams of the F1 game on Twitch, Thom figured he could do something different. With his core values of sharing his passion, happiness & never giving up, he started his Twitch stream in august 2019 as a hobby. All the while at university and working his side jobs of cleaning cars & filling shelves at his local supermarket.

turning point.

At the start of 2020, Thom was given the chance to try and qualify for the 2020 F1 Esports Pro Draft via a time trial event. He managed to qualify and had a chance to get picked after intensive interview processes with the real F1 teams. The dream of getting closer to Formula 1 became reality. Read through the story here.

DREAMS COME TRUE.

Dreams come true in THOMB’s journey to bridge the gaps between simracing and real racing as Alpine Simracing put Thom in the 2012 race-winning Alpine F1 Car at the Paul Ricard track in France. Read more about the story here.

Making a Change.

Thom uses his platforms to entertain his viewers, but most importantly to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Through special events, Thom has raised over $20,000 for charities supporting physically disabled gamers and global mental health.

DOING THE IMPOSSIBLE.

Since Thom started in 2019, he’s had a strong desire to do unique things that disrupts the market. 6 years later, Thom did what no other content creator even dreamed of doing, building a dedicated simracing studio with the coolest full-scale Formula 1 motion racing simulator in the world, featuring current & future THOMB partner logo’s. The next big unique idea is already being brainstormed about… What could it be?

Where it’s going.

The goal is simple; get as many people as possible excited about simracing content and inspire them in a positive way. Thom’s mission is to bridge the gaps between simracing and real life racing, like Formula 1, while putting a smile on people’s faces. And he’s hard at work to do just that!
